God Fights For You

I wish they had taught me spiritual warfare when I was younger. Then I would have understood that the bullying I faced when I was younger and the abandonment and family trauma that broke my self-esteem were just the enemy’s plan to distract me from the light God put in me. It led me to depend so much on wanting to be liked by people and not seeking God’s validation.

When tragic events manifest in the physical, it is because someone has made an agreement with it in the spiritual. How do you make an agreement with the devil’s plans? By not speaking against it or praying against it. More importantly, by not having the revelation of why the plans are coming against you.

Fighting against the plans of the enemy isn’t just praying on your own; you need God to fight for you to win. There are so many things Christians sleep on because they believe “it’s God’s will, I’ll just let it happen.” No! You have to stand up and ask God to intervene, and when He does, He will reveal to you the strategy on how to win.

I’ve always believed I was bright and that God was with me since I encountered Him in a powerful dream at the age of 19 in Cameroon. But since then, because of church hurt and certain activities, I grew away from Him. I ran away from the supernatural experiences because I didn’t want to be laughed at or mocked, and no one in my family had the Holy Spirit, so it didn’t make sense for me to have it.

But I stayed in prayer, even though deep down I felt I was an imposter because I was living a double life. Fear was holding me back. This is why I faced so many challenges—because I didn’t understand my power, and I didn’t turn to God. But in God’s mercy, He would always speak to me through dreams and His voice, but I never truly stepped into my identity as a child of God.

I know that someone may be reading this and has had a supernatural encounter with God, and at the same time you saw some scary things (that’s the devil trying to intimidate you), and you gave up. Don’t be afraid. Even if you walk through the darkest valley, God is with you! If He reveals Himself to you, it’s because He has chosen you as His child to do great works, and He will strengthen you, He will prepare you, and He will help you. You are not alone.

Read Psalm 26 and 35 to speak against the spirit of fear. It will hold you back.

What Spiritual Warfare is About

When God calls you, He will also reveal the enemies that are against you. They will come in the spiritual first. You may encounter dreams of you fighting with people, or people coming to say evil words to you (that’s you receiving a curse). Or even worse, you don’t remember your dreams—that is warfare, because dreams are powerful ways God speaks. In dreams, God reveals your future and reveals events coming soon so that you know how to prepare. If you don’t remember your dreams, you will miss opportunities, you will miss blessings, and you will get distracted.

When you don’t pray against the enemy’s attacks after a dream, it can manifest as emotional distress, frustration, depressive thoughts, discouragement, or people being against you at work, etc.

When you use your tongue to speak against the enemy’s plans, you have now given power to God to do the rest while you remain untouched and in peace. I talk about this because being called by God will include warfare, because we battle against principalities of the world and dark forces—not flesh and blood. It’s a battle of two kingdoms. Once you’re on God’s side, expect opposition.

When I started taking my walk with God seriously, the Holy Spirit would wake me up at 2 a.m. to pray and speak against evil plans. During the day, I would fill my spirit with teachings from pastors and priests who carry the anointing of Christ. This would be followed by reading the Word of God, which the Holy Spirit would inspire me to read, because the Word became the foundation on which I stood for my healing and my deliverance.

Some warfare are  not necessarily inniated   against you  by witches or toxic family members, but also things you may have had done. I remember one night God revealed to me that I needed to forgive two family members who had hurt me deeply in my childhood. At first, I was in denial because I thought I had forgiven them since I didn’t talk about it anymore. But I prayed to God to reveal to me where the pain was. He closed my eyes and took me back to a memory as a child, to a specific moment where my trauma and pain had been locked in. And then I realized I still felt so much sadness. At that moment, I knew I had not let it go—it was just well hidden in my memory.

So while I was crying, I prayed to let it go, and God comforted me by telling me He would avenge me, but I needed to let it go. He knew what happened was not my fault, but in order for me to stand blameless before Him and have a pure heart (which truly pleases God), I had to let it go and forgive them. After crying, I felt so much peace, and today, as I write this, my heart is at peace about my past—I have no shame.

Healing and deliverance were not easy, but I knew what was at stake, so I surrendered. And when that phase was over, He started revealing the plans He had for me—plans of a prosperous future and welfare, just as He promised.

After You Walk Through The Darkest Valleys

Your calling is elevation and blessings. God wants to elevate you and show you who you really are—who you are called to be in the world. You are called to be the light; you are called to show others the way. You are called to shine. And when you develop your relationship with God, one of the most beautiful things He does is give you back your identity.

Living in this world is tough, and we’ve been distracted, chasing after validation, sex, drugs, and even magical powers, thinking it would fill us up. In the process of that futile chase, you lose who you are—you lose your salt. Jesus called His disciples the salt of the earth. You have value, you have a role to play in the Kingdom. Take your call seriously.

I invite you to pray and ask God to reveal who you are, and let these Bible verse readings guide you:

Jeremiah chapter 1

Isiah 54:17

Mathew 5: 13-16

Roman 12:19
